Christophe Hutin
Architect

Christophe Hutin founded his architectural practice in Bordeaux in 2003.
He was a researcher at the Toulouse School of Architecture and a lecturer at the Bordeaux School of Architecture.
He studied and documented the townships of Soweto near Johannesburg and developed recognized expertise in housing and habitat. Founder and coordinator of the Eunic Studio in Johannesburg (2008-2010), he co-founded the Learning from Workshop conducted in Detroit, Soweto, and Uzeste. He published L’enseignement de Soweto with Actes Sud in 2009.
Specializing in sustainable architecture based on the economics of construction, he has produced numerous projects in the field of housing and cultural facilities. Together with the architects Anne Lacaton, Jean-Phillippe Vassal, and Frédéric Druot, he won the 2019 Mies van der Rohe Award for the transformation of 530 social housing units in the Cité du Grand Parc in Bordeaux. His project Communities at Work was selected to represent France at the Venice International Architecture Biennale in 2021.
Christophe Hutin is also a documentary filmmaker, set designer, and exhibition curator. His photographic work was exhibited at the Rencontres d’Arles in 2010.

Fabian Pic
Architect

Graduated in architecture in 2019 and joined Christophe Hutin Architecture in 2020. He is an architect’s assistant and project leader for an R&D program on nautical infrastructures. He is a high-level sportsman with an Olympic sailing career, Finn category from 2012 to 2021: preparation for the 2021 Olympics, substitute at the Rio Olympics, world’s Top 10, young world champion, 6 times French Champion.
