The “vertical housing estate” concept proposes an infrastructure composed of eight bare building plateaus, spread over 6 levels, starting from the first floor. The program involves the construction of eight duplex dwellings by inhabitants in volumes 6 m (20 ft) high. Each dwelling consists of a garden with soil 1 m (3’28”) deep. The infrastructure with a very high slab height is built on stilts to free the ground floor area over the entire plot, leaving 275 m² (2,960 sq. ft) laid out like a mountain garden, a small Pyrenean topographical world of rocks, lichens, ferns, and a stream with wild trout.
