Primary and secondary school in Saint-Médard-en-Jalles

The project is ample, flexible, economical, and harmoniously integrated into the ecosystem. With its protected wetland and remarkable trees, the site presents great ecological qualities.

The objective was to build while preserving all the qualities of the site, sealing the soil as little as possible to occupy a limited amount of land. The aim was to promote biodiversity by offering an environment conducive to individual well-being and development. The plot of land is envisaged as a support for discovery, play, experiment, and learning in relation to nature. The construction follows a rationally regulated post and beam concrete system. It offers great freedom in the layout, ensuring the flexibility and modularity necessary for the school’s future development. The classrooms open onto the gardens.
